The Justified Are Reconciled

6 For while we were still helpless, at the right time, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For rarely will someone die for a just person—though for a good person perhaps someone might even dare to die. 8 But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

  • What does this teach us about God?

    • God’s gracious love took the initiative to save us from our helpless condition 
    • God’s gracious love is far higher than any example of human love 
    • God’s gracious love for us sent His only son Jesus 
    • God’s gracious love sent Jesus at the right time 

  • What does this teach us about people/ourselves?

    • We are helpless 
    • We are ungodly 
    • We are sinners 
    • We are enemies 

  • By God's grace, how will you obey?

    • Remind ourselves of the gospel often! God’s Amazing Love 
    • Pray to be not just hearers of the word but doers of the word. 
    • Build a community of people who will challenge, encourage, and love us well. 

Prayer: God thank you for sending your only son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. While we were still sinners you died for us. May your grace compel us to live for something Greater than ourselves. In Jesus name we pray. All God’s people say Amen!
